Hey guysss,
It’s your girl presh and I’m back with another update from the states. First off, I want to ask have you been following my socials?
I know I’m not as consistent here but I’ve been posting on my se2michi account on Instagram and preciousassah_ on TikTok so make sure you follow me on there, so you don’t miss out my experiences in real time.
Now the last time we spoke I updated you guys on what I was studying here, and it’s been an adventurous journey. I’ve become a film director, producer, photographer. All things media! You name it!
Soo.. I had my first ever midterm exam and boyyy they have it easy here. I’m talking multiple choice questions upon multiple choice. Now there were a few essay questions here and there but nothing too crazy.
The midterms did run up on me though, first I was settling in and before you know it we have exams the next week. However, they did go pretty well so I have no complaints. Time really does move fast. To think I’ve been here for just over three months is insane.
Now for the students reading this that have also participated in a year abroad or currently doing one, did you stress about midterms or just assignments in general?. Cause I’ve caught myself stressing and then I had to pause and remember this doesn’t even go towards my degree so let me calm down. But I guess I’m just someone that loves to do well. I can’t help myself loool.
I’ve continued meeting new people as the days have gone by and I had a chance to experience a fall festive activity which was going to a pumpkin patch. Now I never knew what a pumpkin patch was and apparently, we have it in the UK but I found out about it here.
It was a fun time spent with the girls…apart from us getting lost 7 times in a corn maze it was a good time, and you can find the vlog on my social media. I also found a church out here and they love a good cinnamon donut and apple cider. And as someone that’s obsessed with apple juice, I really loved it. Americans really know how to make a season fun and I’m here for it.
But let’s just talk about hallo weekend. I got told its illegal to be in college and not attend a Halloween party. Crazy right?
Now as you guys know im a believer in Christ and I don’t celebrate Halloween so I wasn’t going to get peer pressured just because I’m away from home.
Halloween was also a Friday so you already know the college students partied all night. Now that’s not really my scene so I just chilled with my roomates and ended up meeting cool people that we chilled with for the rest of the night. And I can definitely say staying in and spending time with friends is way better than getting drunk off your face and waking up the next morning with regrets.
Now enough of Halloween lets talk about something even more exciting…
Before coming here I stopped in New York and had such a great time, and so you guys can experience the fun I had too, I’ve uploaded a vlog for you all to watch:
Make sure to like, comment and subscribe and share with a friend that’s interested in taking the opportunity to do a year abroad.
Until next time,
Preshh <3
