What April taught me about God, Growth & Grief

Hey guys,
Welcome back to the bloggg!
April came and it went. We’ve got a lot to catch up on…
I went back home from university for the Easter break and it was lovely. It’s always nice to go back home. I get to see my family and friends again, and I get to eat my mum’s home-cooked food — which is always a win.
My cooking skills have defo developed at uni, but let’s be real... nothing beats marjay’s cooking 😂.
So let me update you on how Easter break went, starting with the podcast workshop I ran!
Growing up, I used to wish there were podcast workshops or programmes I could attend — especially knowing from a young age that media was where my passion truly lived.
Well... I had the privilege of delivering a week-long podcast workshop alongside Damilola Okeke and Solape Alatise — my big sisters in the field 💕.
We held it at the Tudor Rose Community Centre in Fulham, supporting young people from the Hammersmith & Fulham community.
As a podcaster myself, it was such a joy to help the participants bring their ideas to life — from planning and producing, to finally recording their very own podcast episodes with a professional cameraman.
Watching them grow in confidence, explore meaningful topics, and express their unique voices was honestly so inspiring. Hearing their passion shine through the mic reminded me why opportunities like this matter so much.
It was such a fun and fulfilling way to spend my Easter break, and I’m genuinely excited to see where their podcasting journeys take them next.
Fast forward two weeks later — the ministry I’m a part of held an encounter called Reviving Holiness. Check out our instagram @therevivalsociety_ to see what happened on the day!
But let me tell you… it was AMAZING. We couldn't have done it without our helper — Holy Spirit. He really came through for us, and it was such a beautiful time in the presence of our Lord and Saviour.
The whole event was based on 1 Peter 1:16 — “Be holy, because I am holy.” We really wanted to get that message across, not just for the people attending, but for ourselves too.
Because let’s be real — being a Christian in this day and age? It’s not always easy. It’s so easy to get caught up in the culture and the noise of this world. But we have to remember: we’re not from here.
Our true home is in heaven. That’s where our Father, our friend, our Creator, our King resides.
Holiness isn’t a trend — it’s a lifestyle. A lot of people are religious, but how many of us have a true relationship with Jesus — one that actually transforms us from the inside out?
And I get it. It’s not easy. Trust me. I know.
But we’ve got to make the effort — because He didn’t die for nothing. Hosting this event during Easter season was so timely too, because it reminded us that JESUS IS ALIVE. He’s not dead. Our King is very much alive and active.
Please, make sure you're part of what God is doing in this generation. The world is only getting darker, and we need to carry the light.
Especially after hearing the heartbreaking news of Tami Dollars, who was violently unalived by her roommate. It’s honestly devastating. A young woman, full of life, with a bright future ahead of her. She studied so hard and was loved by many.
It’s a heavy reminder that life is fragile. None of us know what tomorrow holds.
“Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.” — James 4:14
A life with Jesus is the best kind of life. And honestly? It’s the only life truly worth living.
If you feel led to give, I’ve attached the link to her GoFundMe below. Please keep her loved ones in your prayers.
I know this blog post ended on a more serious note, but it’s important. Life is short. Eternity is real.
So let me ask you this… Do you know Jesus? Not just know about Him, but do you have a relationship with Him?
If the answer is no, but you want to — I’ve got you. You don’t have to be perfect. Just come as you are, and the Lord will do the rest.
He makes us whole in our weakness. He sees the mess and still sees greatness. But we have to humble ourselves and let Him transform us into who He designed us to be.
So now that you know all He needs is a willing heart, here’s a prayer you can say:
Father God,
I recognise I am a sinner. I come to you asking for forgiveness of my sins. I confess in my heart and speak with my mouth that Jesus Christ is your Son and that He died on the cross for my sins. I confess Jesus as Lord of my heart, my soul, and my life. I accept Jesus as my personal saviour and I praise you for making a way for me. I declare by the blood of Jesus that I am saved. I invite you into my life and I pray you continue to reveal your love to me by your Holy Spirit. Have your way with my life. I thank you for the new creation you’ve made me.
In Jesus’ Mighty Name, Amen.
WOOOHHHH — you are now SAVED!
🎉Congratulations and welcome to the Kingdom of Heaven.
If you’ve just given your life to Jesus, DM me on Instagram @preciousalwayys. I’d love to help you on this journey and walk with you.
Until next time,
Love you lots,
Preshh
