Hey guys!

Welcome to the first blog of the year!

I so badly wanted this out on the 1st of January, but life has been lifeingggg. So, let’s just pretend this is the 1st January, looool.

Before we dive into the “new year, new me” chat, I need to air my grievances with Mother Nature because—honestly—a flu has been going around, and I sadly caught it on New Year’s Eve.

Who even wants to be sick on New Year’s Eve? I never want to go through that again; it was the worst pain ever.

But despite everything, I’m glad I spent my New Year’s in church—even though I was fighting for my life.

Jesus tells us to rely on Him, right? So, I leaned on Him for strength. And let me tell you, I’m not about to let a flu get in the way of thanking God for the year I’ve just had. And guess what? He came through.

But enough flu talk—let’s get into the New Year vibes because, wow, time really does fly!

Looking Back on 2024

2024 was such a great ride, and I’m so thankful for it. I’ve learnt so many lessons and seen amazing opportunities come my way.

Being in my second year as a journalism student has been a real journey. I’ve learnt so much, but I know I’ve only scratched the surface.

As I step into this new year, I’m so excited about exploring Precious 2.0. I’m ready to delve deeper into journalism, storytelling, and presenting—and I love that you guys are on this journey with me.

Preparing for the New Year

This year, I’m definitely dedicating my plans to the Lord, and I encourage you to do the same.

Vision boards are great, but without intentional planning—and more importantly, prayer and fasting—they’re just wishful thinking.

“And the Lord answered me: ‘Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it.’” – Habakkuk 2:2 (ESV)

To anyone reading this, I pray 2025 will be a wonderful year for you.

As believers, it’s vital to approach everything we do as if we’re doing it for God:

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” – Colossians 3:23 (NIV)

Stewardship is so important. We all have a purpose, so it’s crucial that we understand the times and seasons we’re in. That’s something God has been teaching me, especially as I reflect on my behaviour from last year.

A Lesson in Stewardship

If we don’t look after the things God has entrusted to us, He’ll take them away and give them to someone who will.

It’s just like the parable of the talents:

“Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness.” – Matthew 25:23 (NIV)

But to the servant who didn’t use what was given to him? It didn’t end well:

“You wicked and slothful servant!” – Matthew 25:26 (NIV)

This year, let’s commit to being faithful stewards of all that God has given us.

Jesus at the Centre

My message for you in 2025 is simple: make sure Jesus is at the centre of it all.

Planning is important—don’t get me wrong—but what’s the point of planning a life if you don’t know the One who gave you life in the first place?

And trust me, I’m speaking to myself as much as I’m speaking to you.

Final Thoughts

Here’s to a blessed year ahead. Let’s dedicate our plans to the Lord, trust His timing, and remain faithful stewards of the opportunities He gives us.

Have a blessed day and Happy Sunday!

Much love,

Preshh
